Admission Policy

Priority is given to returning LAP children, siblings of returning children, children formerly in the program, and then children on the waiting list. Applications cannot be accepted for students who are not enrolled in Lafayette Elementary School (enrollment will be confirmed with the school).

Please note: Enrollment is subject to availability and will be confirmed by the Executive Director. Enrollments are accepted each spring for the following school year.  Children from Pre-K through 5th grade may be admitted to LAP. Pre-K children will be accepted tentatively with the expectation that the child can make the adjustment from moving from the Before School program to the classroom and from the classroom to LAP in the afternoon. A two-week transition period will precede any permanent placement for Pre-K students.

Families currently enrolled in the program are given the first opportunity to re-register their children to LAP. Enrollment for current families will begin in May.  In the event that acceptance is not confirmed the spot will be forfeited and we will proceed to the next family on the waitlist. It is important that the information on your application is accurate and up to date for us to reach you when/if necessary.

Families are encouraged to check in to find out where they are on the wait list. Please know that LAP is trying its best to accommodate families of the Lafayette Community. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Financial Aid/Scholarships

If you meet the free and reduced meals criteria at school, you may qualify for reduced tuition at LAP. If you meet this requirement and are seeking before and/or after school care please email the director at to receive a tuition assistance application. As there is currently a wait list, students must first be accepted into the program before a tuition assistance application can be submitted.
